Say What?: Cultivating Survivor-Centered Culture (MOST REQUESTED)
Nearly 1 in 6 men and 1 in 5 women have experienced sexual assault in their lifetime. Survivors of sexual assault are very prevalent within communities. “Say What? Cultivating A Survivor-Centered Culture,” is designed to emphasize, inform, and educate participants about the importance of language, organization cultural awareness, and the significance of bystander intervention as it relates to survivors of sexual assault. Non-binary & Trans Inclusion in Violence Prevention Our non-binary and trans siblings experience sexual and intimate partner violence at drastically higher rates but are often not respected or thought of by service providers. This workshop gives practical tips for inclusion of these survivors (and employees) in your daily work. Maintaining Queer Identity in Heterosexual (appearing) Relationships Not all individuals who identify as queer appear to be in "queer looking" relationships. This workshop is meant for individuals to find their identity and ways to celebrate it regardless of what their relationship(s) appear like to the outside world. If you are queer and in a relationship, your relationship is queer! Proactive Allyship This workshop allows individuals of all identities to learn how to be not only better allies to one another, but how to take PROactive steps. One does not become an ally, one practices allyship daily. This workshop provides attendees with practical skills and education while addressing intent versus impact. Keeping your Relationships Healthy! (can be queer or non-queer specific) Participants will learn tips and activities to process their feelings and emotions around their current and past relationships. They will also learn heathly relationships behaviors and bystander intervention tips for when they see unhealthy behaviors. Sailing Towards Our Lighthouse: Intersection of Movements Think of social justice movements as a boat. Our strengths are our sails pushing us forward. Our identities are our anchors keeping us involved. Our values are our steering wheel guiding us. The rough seas are our challenges within our current climate. Each movement has it's own sailing ship but we are all sailing towards the same goal of social change: our lighthouse. How can we sail together and help each other achieve our final destination Want a presentation topic that isn't listed? Contact Taylor to discuss what you would like! |
